Of course, 6ix9ine soon played Redd at his own game with the ‘GOOBA’ video, reclaiming the image of the rodent. ![]() After ‘GOOBA’ smashed YouTube records, Snoop Dogg demanded via Instagram: “They gotta stop pushing this rat!” Young artists don’t seem much fonder of him: back in September, when outraged media coverage of 6ix9ine’s trial was at fever pitch, Ohio SoundCloud rapper Trippie Redd released the track ‘Under Enemy Arms’, the video for which featured a rat with his trademark multi-coloured hair. This hasn’t stopped one high-profile spokesperson of hip-hop’s old guard from denouncing 6ix9ine. They don’t even match in sound and style, in content, in lifestyle – so why start there?” You can’t hold these new artists to the hip-hop standard code on the streets in the ‘90s. Since hip-hop is founded on anti-authoritarian values, though, shouldn’t turning informant have spelled the end of 6ix9ine’s music career? “You would think so,” agrees Iandoli, “but you’re talking about a different type of hip-hop. He spent six months in jail (he’d already served 13 months while on trial) and announced his comeback with lyrics barked to the camera with bug-eyed defiance in the ‘GOOBA’ video: “ You’re mad – I’m back.” Anyone expecting 6ix9ine to lay low, fearing potential repercussions of turning on a violent gang (“I come from old-school hip-hop culture,” says Iandoli, “so I’m nervous to see the outcome”), was clearly wide of the mark. He traded the information to avoid 47 years behind bars, instead receiving a two-year sentence. Hernandez claimed that his role had been to “keep making hits and be the financial support for the gang … so they could buy guns and stuff like that.” In return, he explained, “I got the street credibility – the videos, the music, the protection.” Last November, he was arrested in his native New York on firearms and racketeering charges and accused of involvement with the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods gang, an affiliation that reportedly encompassed armed robbery, drug trafficking and conspiracy to commit murder. The rapper admitted to appearing in – and posting to Instagram – a video of a sexual nature with a 13-year-old girl, claiming he believed her to be older. Tekashi 6ix9ine is an artist so steeped in controversy and transgression – without the positive connotations that those words usually carry in music – that, strictly in terms of the news cycle, his more recent activity has eclipsed the child sex charge he faced in 2015. Tekashi 6ix9ine’s ‘GOOBA’ became the most-watched hip-hop video on YouTube in a 24hour period. You’ve gotta respect it – obviously I don’t respect him… actually, I don’t want to get into that, but I respect when it comes to what he’s done with the music.” “He has so much hype around him that it makes sense he would be getting 200 million-plus views on YouTube. “Everything he does is attention-grabbing,” says KSI, a YouTube star with more than 30 million subscribers across two accounts on the platform, who recently reached Number Two in the UK charts with his hip-hop album ‘Dissimulation’. The rapper later told his 21 million followers, in extreme close-up, that it was delayed until this Friday (June 5). Two weeks after ‘GOOBA’ was released, 6ix9ine shared an Instagram post in which he promised, a kitten in each hand, that his next single and video would “break the internet”. Because social media plays into that so much, the entire scenario reads like a continuous Twitter thread – you’re always tuned in even when the music isn’t there.” “So much of that is the story element around him. “6ix9ine had been building momentum for what that moment would be,” says Kathy Iandoli, a New Jersey-based hip-hop writer whose book God Save The Queens: The Essential History of Women in Hip-hopwas published by Harper Collins last year. At the time of writing, the YouTube views of ‘GOOBA’ stand at more than 279 million. In a brief but telling jump cut, acknowledging that he outraged members of the hip-hop community by ‘ratting’, he transforms into a cartoon rodent. ![]() On May 8, 43 million people tuned in to see the face-tatted social media celebrity, on house arrest and fresh from prison after an astonishing and highly publicized legal case that saw him offer authorities information on a New York gang, flash his ankle bracelet and give an obnoxious grin. The typically nonsensical track is one-part generic trap song and three-parts Fatman Scoop, and its video – 6ix9ine leering at paint-splattered women in a bland studio somewhere – duly became the most-watched hip-hop video on YouTube in a 24-hour period. ![]() Last month saw the rapper, whose criminal record makes for truly depressing reading and who is better known as Tekashi 6ix9ine, release the gaudy comeback single ‘GOOBA’. At just 24 years old, Daniel Hernandez is most hate-watched man in the world. 8/31/2023 0 Comments Qobuz 3 month trial 2022Plus, Spotify starts out at £10 / $10 / AU$12 for the pleasure. The rest of the platform's offering of over 82 million songs can be played on pretty much any device you own, thanks to intuitive iOS and Android apps and support in numerous smart TVs, connected speakers and other AV kit courtesy of Spotify Connect. Not only does it offer decent (by most people's standards) approximately 320kbps quality, but it also boasts one of the most exhaustive and easy-to-navigate catalogues – though some big artists, including Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Grahame Nash, David Crosby, Stephen Stills, India.Arie and Nils Lofgren, are absent after recently taking issue with the service's stance on Covid disinformation. If you’re a conscientious music fan looking for the best high-quality streaming experience, with an extensive catalogue, immersive content, broad device support, and improved discovery features (and you aren’t already tied into the Apple ecosystem), Tidal is unquestionably it.ĭespite its critics, Spotify remains comfortably the most popular and convenient way to get your music fix. Tidal is also now distinguishing itself from the rest of the pack by introducing initiatives designed to provide artists with direct payments (from HiFi Plus subscribers only) that represent each user’s listening habits rather than being attributed by aggregation. Sonically Tidal still has the edge over almost all the competition, although Apple Music’s ALAC streams manage to match it for openness and subtlety. The CD-quality streams display excellent levels of detail and expression, and hi-res recordings take this up a level. It may have the priciest premium account tier on our list, but Tidal’s ease of use is exemplary, and sound quality is exceptional across the board. Tidal Connect also now allows you to connect via wi-fi to a growing list of products from manufacturers including NAD, Naim, KEF, Bluesound, Dali, Cambridge Audio, McIntosh and more. You can access Tidal through iOS, Android, desktop – all of which offer hi-res streams – as well as a browser-based player and a good spread of other platforms, such as Sonos. Customers in the US can take advantage of the service’s first-ever free plan, called ‘Tidal Free’, which offers the company’s complete library of 100 million tracks at 160kbps with “limited interruptions” from Tidal that will “aim to educate consumers on the music industry.” So if you're looking to try something new, which is the best music streaming service for you? Read on to find out.īut hi-res and CD-quality streams aren’t the be-all and end-all of Tidal’s offering. After all, when your playlists are set up and your listening habits are learned by a certain service, it's harder to decide to switch. But you don't have to sacrifice quality Tidal, Apple, Amazon and Qobuz all have subscription tiers that allow you to access CD-quality and even hi-res streams.Īs paid-for access to music takes over from outright ownership, users are likely to be signed up to one service or another for decades to come, so it makes sense to fully investigate what's out there before blindly committing to a rolling subscription for the rest of your life. Those concerned less by the outright quality and more with getting bang for your buck can listen to compressed streams at 320kbps from the likes of Spotify. ![]() The audio quality of these streams varies between services. ![]() There are also discounts to be had for students, as well as savings if you share your account with another person or your household. ![]() Once you decide to pay, it's usually by way of a set monthly subscription fee, though some services, such as Qobuz, offer a reduction if you sign up for a full year. You can also check out the best free music apps if you're tight on budget. The good news is that most services offer new users free trials – typically a month but sometimes up to three – and some, like Spotify, have a free tier (supported by adverts with limited playback options) so you can try out a services interface and curation before you buy. There's a wide range of streaming services to choose from, offering unlimited access to vast catalogues of music, which can be streamed over the internet or a mobile network or downloaded directly to your device for offline listening. 8/31/2023 0 Comments Star wars wolfpack logo keychainSinker showed proficiency with a jetpack when he used one to scale the walls of a Separatist outpost on Felucia as well as when he used one on Kadavo. Anyone come across this and how to use these inside Cubase? Sorry one last word on this TechRadar webpage seems to make some to reference of SW and MWin addition to KS. And will pass onto admin here and at Cubase to add to the ones that exist.īut it does seem to be confusing as why completely different names were used except the Italian ones that most of us are used to seeing as IKMM is an Italian company. I am putting together a list of expression maps for Philharmonik 2 to use in Cubase 10.5 above. DAWs seem to be much the same I have seen from the pictures of them. Do these relate to to these lengths? Cubase seems to have the access to about 50+ articulations that don’t exist here. In Cubase you have 3 definitions of short notes Tenuto, staccato and stactissimo. Does any one from IKMM know of any reason as to they have used articulations that don’t bear resemblance to normal orchestration. I am trying to add these as separate articulations below C1 but ran out of time at A-1 to see what effect that this had on the note. In Cubase you have endless articulations you can add to a sound. However some of the more important articulations such as Sustain A, B, Fast, Slow etc.these again don’t match with what I know. I am assuming detache is meant to be like a detached note or a whole note slurred into a note with a staccato on it. These terms and how they apply to the score don’t make sense. However I am a string player and I am slightly confused as to the naming terms in this piece of software because some don’t match those I know ie Detache 0.3, 0.6, 1.99, 2.0 and 3.5. The articulations in the sound work no problem. ![]() I am working with strings at present and have added my articulations in Cubase in the project folder in a folder called express maps because the instruments with KS beside them can be linked this way. |
